Opportunity of education for Extremity Lengthening and Reconstruction Method at Istanbul University, Istanbul Medical Faculty.

Duration: 3 months

Program content:

- Deformity correction

- Pseudoarthrosis treatment

- Lenthening surgery (external fixator and the combined technique with external fixator and intramedullary nail)

- Surgical treatment of chronic osteomyelitis

- Reconstructions performed with the external fixator-intramedullary nail combined technique

- External fixator use in traumatology

- Treatment of bone defects with the combination of external fixator and intramedullary nail

- Reconstruction of congenital deformities

(Prerequisite for participation: Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology)

Expectations:

- The participator will learn all planning, surgical techniques and postoperative care principles related with Ilizarov surgery during the education program.

- The participator will prepare at least one scientific paper to be published in a SCIE registered journal.

Documents required for application:

- CV with the applier’s photograph

- A list of scientific papers

- A copy of the document which shows that the applier is a specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology.
